LEARNING OBJECTIVES

Upon completion of the teaching unit, students will be able to: 

  • Deal with legal issues related to the energy sector,
  • Describe the regulatory framework of hydrogen, as well as for markets as for production constraints,
  • Describe the hazards of hydrogen and the ATEX requirements,
  • Apply safety rules in hydrogen environment and consider the preventive and protective equipment (gas detectors, explosimeter),
  • Take part in the safety reviews done during a project or plant modification to improve process safety practices and reinforce the integration of the human factor from the design stage,
  • Analyze the relative efficiency of the different emissions reduction tools: standards, carbon tax, CO2 markets,
  • Effectively manage the CO2 emission allowances within a given company / country,
  • Apply the LCA
