Learning Objectives
The main objective of this unit is to impart an understanding of the constraints imposed by the integration of the powertrain in the vehicle. The content includes:
- evaluation of vehicle performance, drivability and consumption, and of the influence of various parameters on the latter;
- noise, vibration and harshness (NVH) engendered by the powertrain;
- vehicle functions that interact with the powertrain (ABS, ESP, climate control, etc.);
- conventional and advanced architecture of the external cooling circuit
- heavy duty engine characteristics and vehicle requirements.
