LEARNING OBJECTIVES
For the manufacturing of either monomer or polymer:
- Know in details the ideal reactor types used for single & multiple-phase reactions: batch reactor, CSTR, PFR, packed bed reactors, slurry reactors, fluidized bed reactors;
- Master the calculations of mass & energy balances of ideal reactors dedicated to gas-phase and liquid-phase reactions of any order, including multiple-step reactions as encountered in polymerization reactors;
- Master the heat balance calculations for reactors involving viscous media in single-phase reactors;
