This teaching unit includes an introduction to geosciences, in particular through a geological field course, and the fundamentals of reservoir engineering: characterization of rocks and fluids, fluid flow in porous media. 

• understand the elements of a geological description of a deposit,
• characterize a reservoir (rocks and fluids) and extract useful data from measurement reports,
• initiate the implementation of data acquisition and to participate in the processing and interpretation of all data contributing to the reservoir characterization.
